"Pain was a great motivator..."

Personalized PT encourages their clients, and you, to add aerobic and strength building exercises to your routine. Not only will this improve your overall health, it will help decrease your pain as it improves your range of motion.

"Losing a few pounds, the vague idea of getting in shape... nothing is quite as motivating as pain. The therapist sent me home with specific and very manageable instructions. For example to go for a half hour walk on level ground. Over time the walks got longer, the terrain more challenging... and as the pain subsided I found myself in surprisingly good shape, ten pounds lighter, with an established exercise routine. Imagine my surprise!"

From Personalized PT's point of view, however, it would be preferable if people were able to establish an exercise and stretching routine before they ended up in pain and in physical therapy!

Do you perform regular household chores which require lifting, twisting, motions? Play golf on the weekends? Enjoy a pick up game of football with your kids? As we get older our bodies don't perform with the same flexibility as they did when we were in our twenties. Personalized PT works with clients to establish a baseline of flexibility and strength, then designs a workable program to improve range of motion and fitness... so you can do what you love now, and for a long time to come.

If you're coming in for a motion and fitness analysis you should wear loose fitting comfortable clothing to your appointment. We don't ask you to don an uncomfortable and potentially embarassing gown, just that you wear clothing you can move easily in!
